Shortly after regaining Camelot, Arthur, aware of the loyalty and bravery that Merlin had shown (beyond the line of duty), decides to make his manservant a knight of Camelot. After his knighting, Merlin officially joins the Knight’s of the Round Table, sitting at his King’s right hand.
Merlin Alternate Universe – Pendragon Enterprise
Pendragon Enterprise is the world’s leading computer security company. The company’s CEO, Uther Pendragon, is known for being merciless when it comes to seeking out and destroying new viruses, as well as pressing charges against the hackers creating them. Uther is growing old and is ready to settle down for a nice long retirement, but he must be sure his only son is up to taking over the company.
Arthur Pendragon knows he has a lot to learn and a long way to go before he can prove himself ready to step into his father’s CEO shoes. Arthur hires a personal assistant to help him around the office, but the newbie falls short of expectations. Merlin cannot make a decent cup of coffee, constantly mis-schedules meetings, and seems incompetent when it comes to screening phone calls. However, behind Merlin’s seemingly inept persona, there beats the heart of a master hacker, who goes by the code name Emrys.
When the Kilgharrah virus strikes all of the major banks and loan companies that employ Pendragon Enterprise, panic sweeps the company. This virus is the worst the Pendragons’ have ever seen; it threatens to bankrupt half of the country’s elite players. Arthur and his small team of programmers are tasked with destroying the virus, but are getting nowhere fast. Can the supposedly-bumbling personal assistant tame the beast? And how can Merlin fight the virus when he cannot let anyone know he is a secret hacker?
It is simple, really. Merlin must create a program to destroy the virus while somehow making it appear as though Arthur and his team was responsible. Right…simple.
